Specialist occupational therapists sought as experts

The Council of Occupational Therapists in European Countries are requesting occupational therapists to self-nominate as experts in various domains of practice

Published on 19th September 2018

Occupational therapists who specialise in the areas of dementia, mental health, children and adolescents and rehabilitation are being sought by the Council of Occupational Therapists in European Countries.

COTEC was established in 1986 to coordinate the views of the National  Associations  of  Occupational Therapy in Europe and to enable National Associations of Occupational Therapists to work together to develop, harmonise and improve standards of professional practice and advance the theory of Occupational Therapy throughout Europe to best address the social and health issues affecting European citizens. COTEC also raises awareness of occupational therapy.

In 2015, COTEC established a Register of Experts in line with the priorities identified by the European Targets for 2020 and the WHO areas for action.

As a result COTEC are requesting occupational therapists to self-nominate as experts in various domains of practice and is seeking experts in the following areas:

  •     mental health
  •     aging population
  •     dementia
  •     children and adolescents
  •     poverty reduction
  •     primary care
  •     equal access to healthcare systems
  •     ICT solutions and e-health innovations
  •     employment
  •     oncology
  •     palliative care
  • refugees and displaced people
  • neurology
  • rehabilitation.
